Based on a review of facility policies, evidence protocols, memoranda of agreement,
interviews with facility leadership, medical and mental health staff, community
advocacy partners, law enforcement partners, and medical providers, the auditor
determined that NNJDC has established appropriate procedures to ensure the
preservation of evidence, timely access to forensic medical examinations, qualified
victim advocacy services, and coordination with outside investigative agencies in
accordance with the requirements of Standard 115.321.
Although no incidents requiring activation of these procedures occurred during the
audit period, the facility has developed comprehensive policies, agreements, and
community partnerships to ensure an effective response should an allegation of
sexual abuse arise.
Accordingly, the auditor finds that NNJDC meets the requirements of Standard
115.321, and no corrective action is required.
