The auditor found that the facility has appropriate written procedures, accessible
educational materials, available interpretation resources, and staff knowledge to
ensure residents with disabilities or limited English proficiency receive equal access
to PREA education, reporting methods, investigations, and victim services.
Compliance Determination
Based on a review of facility policies, the Pre-Audit Questionnaire, resident
educational materials, observations made during the facility site review, and
interviews with the PREA Coordinator, staff, and specialized residents, the auditor
determined that NNJDC has established appropriate procedures to provide
meaningful access to PREA information and services for residents with disabilities
and residents with limited English proficiency. The facility also prohibits the routine
use of resident interpreters except in narrowly defined emergency circumstances.
Accordingly, the auditor finds that NNJDC meets the requirements of Standard
115.316, and no corrective action is required.
