Auditor Overall Determination: Meets Standard
Auditor Discussion
The following evidence was used to determine compliance for Standard 115.389:
Documents Reviewed:
· NNJDC Pre-Audit Questionnaire
· NNJDC 115.389 PREA Data Storage, Publication, and Destruction
Interviews Conducted:
· PREA Coordinator
NNJDC Policy 115.389(A) requires that all data collected on reports of sexual
misconduct be securely retained. The PREA Coordinator reported that resident
records are stored in a secure cabinet located in the intake area. Upon release,
resident files are transferred to a locked storage cabinet within NNJDC’s records
storage area. Employee records are maintained in a secure cabinet in the
administrative area, and all reports of sexual abuse are stored securely in the PREA
Coordinator’s office.
In accordance with Policy 115.389(B), NNJDC publishes aggregated sexual abuse
data annually and makes it available to the public through the agency website. The
auditor verified that this information is publicly accessible online. Prior to
publication, all personal identifiers are removed from the data set, consistent with
the requirements outlined in §115.388.
