This review includes: (1) identifying problem areas; (2) taking corrective action on an ongoing basis; and (3) preparing an annual report documenting the facility’s findings and corrective actions.   The PREA Coordinator is responsible for conducting the required data review and preparing the annual report, which is submitted to the Director for review and approval. The Director confirmed that he reviews and signs the annual reports prior to their publication on the facility’s website for public access.   The annual reports include comparisons of the current year’s data and corrective actions with those reported in previous years and provide an assessment of NNJDC’s progress in preventing and addressing sexual abuse. The auditor reviewed the 2023 and 2024 annual reports and determined that the facility accurately reported its sexual abuse data and provided comparative analyses of the information collected. The reports included information regarding allegation types, identified trends, corrective actions, and the facility’s overall PREA compliance.   In accordance with NNJDC Policy 115.388 D., the agency may redact specific information from its reports when publication would present a clear and specific threat to the safety or security of the facility. When information is redacted, the nature of the material removed must be identified. Examples of information subject to redaction include resident names, dates of birth, juvenile tracking numbers, and other personally identifiable information. The purpose of these redactions is to protect the confidentiality and privacy of residents. The auditor reviewed the 2023 and 2024 annual reports and confirmed that personally identifiable information had been appropriately removed.
