Minutes of a Meeting of the Newport News Redevelopment and Housing Authority August 18, 2026 Regarding Phase V, located at 28th Street and Washington Avenue, there were minor delays related to site soil conditions. These issues are being addressed, and vertical construction is expected to begin within the coming weeks. Ms. Shaw further reported that the original CNI grant is scheduled to expire in September 2026. While the Authority expects to close out the original grant funding, supplemental funding will support the completion of remaining housing activities. As part of the grant closeout process, staff are implementing a CNI Sustainability and Endowment Plan to ensure residents continue receiving supportive services after the grant period ends. Funding from the original grant has been set aside to support resident services during the transition period and help maintain program stability following grant expiration. USI will continue to partner with the Authority through the transition and sustainability phases. No Closed Session Other Business
