Discovery STEM proposal

Family communication and closeout
A workable plan should be understandable to families and staff and should preserve access for
walkers, bus riders, preschool children, students needing accommodations and families who cannot
drive. Discovery should approve and issue any operating notice; this proposal does not announce a
school routing change.
Communication package
Provide a concise family notice with the approved map, arrival/dismissal and midday procedures, the
effective date, restrictions with reasons, an absence or delay arrangement, and the school contact for
questions. Give bus/childcare providers and neighboring affected properties the relevant information.
Use translation, accessible formats and a consistent school channel where needed.
Invite targeted feedback before final selection and during follow-up. Record the relevant location,
date/window, observed problem and effect on access. Treat feedback as a lead to verify, not a
measured prevalence estimate. School-managed individual needs should be resolved privately rather
than published with student names or personal schedules.
Action closure
Close each item only when the responsible authority records its decision, completes approved work or
supports a no-work determination, checks the control relied upon and documents the follow-up
outcome. The action log should retain any residual concern, continuing owner and reopening trigger.
An incomplete future schedule may be an accepted plan but is not completed corrective work.
Public decision summary
Provide a school-specific explanation of what was reviewed, the selected arrangement, its basis,
funded actions, implementation timing, results and outstanding evidence. Report disagreements fairly.
Remove student/caller identifiers and protected security information; maintain the detailed operational
record separately.
Approval sought
We ask Discovery and NNPS to consider an agreed, bounded review with city coordination, qualified
specialist review and transparent resource assumptions. The final recommendation should follow
current evidence and approved authority. Until those conditions are met, this document is a proposal
for review and action, not an adopted traffic plan or a finding that a particular route is safest.Jump to an indexed page (28 of 28)
