VI. DRAINAGE SYSTEM MAINTENANCE & STREAM
DUMPING REGULATIONS (ACTIVITY 540)
Newport News provides drainage system maintenance information across its
website and social media. This includes a Before You Dig factsheet outlining the
dangers of digging without calling VA 811 and posts on media outlets like X (formerly
known as Twitter) about the necessity of proper disposal of waste. Residents can also
file a stormwater 311 complaint form for flooding, debris, fish kill, and illegal dumping
on the Newport News website.
