Building upon existing outreach efforts and the recommendations of the PPI committee, the City is committed to deploying projects geared toward increasing flood risk awareness and promoting the purchase of flood insurance for property protection. These projects, as included in the separately published Flood Insurance Assessment report dated April 2023, will include, but are not limited to: • Updating the City’s Flood Information webpage to include additional flood risk information and an ArcGIS StoryMap to collect local input and experiences. • Creating fact sheets to supplement responses to inquiries about flood risk, covering topics such as repetitive loss neighborhoods and flood protection for the home and business. • Sending direct mailings and emails to lenders, realtors, and insurance agent association contacts to publicize the map information services offered by the City.
