Recruitment
NNPD launched a new career portal to help recruit future
officers and dispatchers. It spotlights the best of Newport
News Police Department, offering an inside look at the
Department’s core values, community impact, and state-
of-the-art training. The portal has behind-the-badge
content where website visitors can see videos and stories
from officers, offering a glimpse into policing in Newport
News. The mobile-friendly website also offers a
streamlined applicant process. The Career Portal is more
than just a tool; it’s a gateway to a rewarding career in law
enforcement. Visit JoinNNPD.com to learn more.
The Department also unveiled four recruitment vehicles.
The four custom-designed police cruisers are each
wrapped to reflect a distinct and iconic part of Newport
News. One car features a bold depiction of Newport News City Center skyline. Another showcases South
Precinct’s most iconic landmark, Newport News Shipbuilding. The third car is wrapped in a vibrant imagery
of Newport News City Park, located in North Precinct. The fourth vehicle highlights the anchor of the
Department, NNPD’s Headquarters building, arguably the most beautiful police department building in the
Commonwealth.
