Services Bureau-Transportation
Transportation of inmates falls to the Services Bureau. Deputies move
incarcerated persons to and from courts in other cities, to penitentiaries, and take
them to medical appointments outside the Jail and Annex. There were more than
2,300 transports in 2024.
A writ is a written order issued by a court commanding a specific incarcerated
person be brought to court. Transportation deputies ensure prisoners are moved
safely and efficiently, whether by vehicle or airline.
