COMMUNITY RESOURCES Community Resources e Resident Relations e Senior Residents Head To Toe Mini Health Expo at Pinecroft Apartments NNRHA’s Community Resources Department was very pleased to partner with the Newport News Fire Department (NNFD) and its amazing community partners to host the Head-to- Toe Mini Health Expo on July 9th at Pinecroft Apartments. NNFD brought their new Community Health Mobile, which had an attending physician and medical staff from Riverside Health’s Internal Medicine group on board. Residents from Pinecroft Apartments and several other communities attended. Residents received blood pressure screenings and basic health assessments, while 25 residents received medical evaluations on the health mobile unit by physicians. Two residents required transportation to the emergency room due to urgent health concerns. Through these services, the Newport News Fire Department (NNFD) and medical staff were able to identify emergent and quality-of-life health issues, provide referrals for follow-up care, and connect residents with valuable health resources and support services. The lobby was vibrant and welcoming, featuring 12 agencies and community partners who provided residents with valuable information about available services and resources. Participating organizations included Inspired Home Health, Kreative Milestones Mental Health, Newport News Social Services, Peninsula Agency on Aging, InnovAge PACE, CenterWell, and Benefit Plan Services, among others. The event fostered meaningful engagement between residents and service providers, creating opportunities for residents to feel heard, supported, and connected to resources that can enhance their well-being. It also allowed community partners to build valuable relationships and strengthen collaboration in serving the community. NNRHA extends its sincere appreciation to all of the community partners and residents who participated and helped make the event a success. Photo removed for privacy
