SUBJECT: Continuation of Authority Scholarship
The attached resolution provides for the continuation of the NNRHA scholarship
program for our Public Housing residents and Housing Choice Voucher program
participants. Since 1989, we have been able to provide two scholarships
annually in the amount of $1,000 each for four years to graduating seniors or
others who wish to pursue higher education who reside in public or assisted
housing. These two scholarships are awarded each year at the Scholarship
Banquet along with those supported by our private scholarship donors. Last
year, a total of twelve (12) scholarships were awarded to our public housing
residents and Section 8 clients. This year’s banquet will be held at the Downing
Gross Cultural Arts Center on April 29, 2026, at 5:30 p.m.
Funds are available to continue this program with two scholarships for 2026, and
adoption of the resolution is recommended.
