10. [For communities receiving SDP2 credit]
a. Has a review of the property database been done?
Yes. One updated Repetitive Loss list was received post-plan development and reviewed
to determine if new addresses apply. The review determined that no new properties have
been added since the Repetitive Loss Plan and supporting property database were created.
It was further determined that no new map revisions have occurred to prompt the update
of the SFHA properties included in the property database and in the Substantial Damage
Estimator tool. Note, a request for the latest Repetitive Loss list and claims data was made
to FEMA but as of November 2025, response to that request remains outstanding.
b. Has any outdated information been corrected in the database (structures removed from
the list, changes in property ownership or in market value, etc.).
No such updates have been made at to date. Due to the number of records in the
database, the City of Newport News plans to perform updates of this nature every three
years or as warranted as a result of a major disaster event, if one is to occur sooner.
c. Has the updated database been imported into FEMA’s Substantial Damage Estimator? No
updates to the SDE data have been completed to date.
