In response to your May 14, 2026, Virginia Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request
for "...electronic copies of the following existing records:
. 1. Any corrective action plan, supplemental response, implementation plan, training
or supporting documents related to the APA finding “Properly Assess and Bill Court Costs,”
including any records beyond the response already included in the published APA report.
2. Records sufficient to show that the 16 cases identified by APA were
corrected, including any refunds, credits, billing corrections, accounting adjustments, or locality
billing corrections.
3. Any updated procedures, cost sheets, checklists, review-process documents, or
training records created or used to address this APA finding.
4. Communications between the Clerk’s Office and APA from July 1, 2025, to the
present concerning this finding, the corrective action plan, or implementation of corrective
action."
Records held by the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office are not subject to FOIA pursuant § 2.2-
3703(A)(6) of FOIA and are, instead, governed by § 17.1-208. As such, the Clerk's Office responds
